Recording System Prompts (single recording method)
The Samsung SVMI-E Series voicemail system uses prompt phrases, and prompts can be seamed together to create one complete recording, however, most systems are designed using single prompts for each recording and multiple phrases are not utilized.
Typically, system prompts are assigned as follows, but this can change from site to site, depending upon the application:
Day Mode: Prompt 1001.
Night Mode: Prompt1002.
Holiday Mode: Prompt 1003.
Weather/Special Mode: Prompt 1004.
General Information: Prompt 1005.
The following are instructions for recording system prompts:
1. Access main company greeting:
a. From within the office: press your voicemail button or dial the voicemail system access code (typically 529). When the voicemail system answers and prompts to enter your password, simply press *. This should return you to the main company greeting.
b. From outside the office: dial the main company telephone number and wait for the voicemailsystem to answer. If answered by a person, ask them to transfer you to extension 529.
2. Log into administrator’s mailbox: Press # 0 0 0 0.
3. Enter administrator’s mailbox password (default is 0000, yours may be changed.):
4. Select option 1 to edit system prompts.:
5. Enter the prompt number you wish to hear or re-record. Typical prompt numbers used for maincompany greetings and submenus are 1001 through 1005 and above. Prompts in other numbered ranges are system prompts and should not be changed:
6. Press 1 to hear the prompt you’ve selected. Press 3 to erase and re-record it. After recording, press 2 and follow the instructions given. When finished, press # to accept the changes. To exit without making changes, press *.
The following is a list of typical prompts and their uses:
PROMPT 1001 Main day greeting, such as:
Thank you for calling {company name}.
Our receptionist is currently assisting other callers.
If you know your party's extension number, you may enter it at any time.
For a directory extensions, press 9.
For general information, including our address, location, fax number, and website, press 1.
Or, to speak with an available member of our staff, press zero or simply remain on the line.
Thank you.
PROMPT 1002 Main night greeting, such as:
Thank you for calling {company name}.
Our office is now closed.
Regular business hours are monday through friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM mountain standard time.
Please note that our options and extension numbers have changed.
If you know your party's extension number, you may enter it at any time.
For a directory extensions, press 9.
For general information, including our address, location, fax number, and website, press 1.
Or, to leave a general message, press zero or simply remain on the line.

PROMPT 1003 Main holiday greeting, such as:
Thank you for calling {company name}.
Our office is now closed in observance of the holiday.
